About ANAC
Founded in 1987, the Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) is a global professional membership organization that supports nurses, nurse practitioners, and other health professionals who provide care to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. ANAC serves its nearly 2,000 members and chapters through programs focused on connecting and educating its members while advocating for evidence-based approaches for the delivery of safe and effective HIV care. With the guiding principles of promoting the professional delivery of care to improve the health and well-being of people living with and affected by HIV, ANAC provides leadership, support, professional development, and programming to nurses and other health professionals in addressing the HIV/AIDS crisis by:
ANAC meets the needs of nurses and other health professionals in HIV/AIDS care through its highly regarded peer-reviewed journal, robust member committees, local chapters, an annual conference featuring national and international speakers and educational and scientific sessions on the latest developments in HIV, and programs advancing HIV/AIDS care, research, prevention, administration, and policy.
About the ANAC Executive Director
ANAC’s executive director will be responsible for reporting to a 10-person Board of Directors to meet the organization’s mission and strategic goals, maintain fiscal stability, lead development and fundraising activities, provide member and chapter services, and oversee programs, conference, and policy initiatives. The ED will manage and grow ANAC’s $1.6 million annual operating budget and provide direction to the organization’s internal and outsourced team of 11 in operations, financial management, programming and constituent services. ANAC’s Executive Director serves as a spokesperson for the association. Core responsibilities include:

Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong awareness and understanding of current issues, trends, and policies in Nursing, HIV care/treatment/prevention, and Public Health, as well as proficiency in responding rapidly to dynamic trends and challenges. The ANAC Executive Director should bring to this position demonstrated expertise in providing visionary leadership and the ability to create a workplace and organizational environment of efficiency, innovation, and creativity. The ANAC ED will be expected to continually foster diversity and cultural competency in all operations and programming, as well as the capacity to foster transparency in all organizational processes.

Salary is commensurate with the requirements of this full-time position and begins at $165,000. The ED position is fully remote (EST is preferred) and manages a remote team, with a presence in Washington DC. ANAC offers medical insurance and 403b retirement plans and generous vacation and paid leave.
